Characteristics
Violas are compact, cool-season flowering plants with a flowering period of 8-12 weeks in retail conditions. They are frost-tolerant and suitable for outdoor containers, baskets, and garden beds. Typically sold in pot sizes from 9-12cm, they offer good branching and continuous blooming throughout spring and autumn.
Availability
We source violas from The Netherlands with peak availability during spring and autumn seasons. Currently available in yellow, blue, white, and a range of additional colours including purple, orange, and bicolours. Check our webshop for current stock and specific variety selection.
Fun Fact
Violas can tolerate temperatures down to -10°C, making them one of the hardiest seasonal plants for early spring sales. This cold tolerance allows garden centres to stock them earlier in the season compared to most other flowering bedding plants, extending the spring sales period.
